In Extremist Movie Debate, Ethan and Joe’s true feelings about the movie do not matter. They flip a coin to decide who loves it and who hates it. They then debate it on the fly. This episode? Atomic Blonde.
Oftentimes, hilarity ensues (or just offensive arguments). As always, SPOILERS AHEAD.
Atomic Blonde [official trailer]
In the same vein as John Wick, Charlize Theron stars in the new espionage punch-out, Atomic Blonde. Ethan thought the plot was a tired and overused story with the only engaging element being that it was set in the eighties, which was a hollow attempt at livening up the movie. Joe argues it is a great new addition to the unreliable narrator category, and the pitch-perfect action scenes are the added bonus. Can action movies have smart, complex plots or should they focus on the cinematic eye candy found in the fight scenes? Unpaid Intern Jeff moderates.
