Know Who You’re Instagramming: @j.r.williams_

We spoke to poetrepreneur @j.r.williams_ about his time on the road that formed the body of his work and the message that we do not hear enough. Unfiltered, of course.

The Big Smoke: Your Instagram pics are fabulous. If for whatever reason you could only save three, which three would you save?

Can you please tell our readers a little bit about yourself and how your Instagram came to be?

I am 22 years of age, born in Pasadena California and I really enjoy traveling. I have been to or through most of the states in the U.S. and that is when I really started writing. That time on the road is also what drove me to start my page on Instagram.

What do you think is the main driver to people coming to your Instagram daily and following you?

With my page, I really wanted to find a connection between nature and people. I also enjoy being the writer who can talk about the emotions and feelings many people have kept hidden. I believe the ability to speak on topics that most have buried deep within is one of the main reason people continue to visit my page daily.

What is the main story you like to tell through your Instagram?

You’re not alone. It is a simple message but one I think a lot of people do not hear enough.

What is the worst way for someone to try and get your attention on Instagram, and what is the best way?

The best way to contact me is simply through DM or to comment on any of my photos. I love hearing feedback and the stories of those who follow me. I think one of the worst ways to contact me is through spam “f4f” or anything along that line. Please, if you want to get my attention, just say hello.

J.R. Williams

My name is James Williams Jr, I go by the pen name J.R. Williams. I was born in Pasadena, California, and in my short 22 years of life have traveled all over the United States. That’s when I first fell in love with writing, finding a connection between the raw emotion of the land, and the people. I have always had a love for people, and it is that love and my newfound love for this earth, that has pushed me to share my work. I find that there are many emotions that this earth and man have in common, and the emotion I intend to provoke the most through my writing is love. I want to show people that in even the darkest of dark, there is light. That’s how my page came to be, a sort of gateway for those struggling to see beauty, and struggling to see life. I believe, and always will believe, that and that alone is why so many people have felt connected to my writing.
