In Extremist Movie Debate, Ethan and Joe’s true feelings about the movie do not matter. They flip a coin to decide who loves it and who hates it. They then debate it on the fly. This episode? Blade Runner 2049.
Oftentimes, hilarity ensues (or just offensive arguments). As always, SPOILERS AHEAD.
Blade Runner 2049 [official trailer]
Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Prisoners, Sicario) is back with Blade Runner 2049, a new sequel in the Summer (or decade, let’s be real) of Sequels/Reboots/Remakes. Joe argues this movie is nothing more than a commercial using a preexisting property to push products we don’t want or need. Ethan pushes back saying it explores an age-old question and is able to go even deeper into the conversation. Along with masterful acting, wonderful directing, and awe-inspiring cinematography, this is a modern masterpiece. Adequately Paid Intern Kelsey moderates.
